The same is true as was in my article about the best guitar for beginners; there is no "best" guitar. However, like the other article, I do have a few suggestions of what I think are some of the better choices of guitars for each level of difficulty.

On this page when I say intermediate, I really mean average. This article is making recommendations for the average guitar player; the guitar player who plays for fun, on his own or in a group setting or band.

As always, the 1st thing you need to consider are your needs. What will you use the guitar for? Are you more concerned about price or quality? The more expensive the guitar, typically the better of a guitar you're buying. Most guitars that are aimed at the average guitar player fall in the $200 - $1,000 price range, though that's just in general. You'll also probably be buying the guitar without an amp and other guitar accessories; those should be bought separate.

Electric Guitars for the Average Guitar Player

If you're looking to buy an electric guitar and would would consider yourself at least somewhat of an experienced guitar player, you should realize that the electric guitar is the biggest market for guitars and that there are hundreds of guitars that would be fantastic or great deals. So the below are mere recommendations. Feel free to search until you find something better.

The Ibanez Artcore AFS75T Electric Guitar is my first recommendation. It only runs at about $399 new and has a slick look, great sound, and lasting design.

Ibanez Artcore AFS75T

This guitar is, in my honest opinion, one of the best affordable electric guitars out there. Ibanez sells various models of the Artcore electric guitar, all of them excellent. You can browse the models here.

Acoustic Guitars for the Average Player

Washburn Acoustic Guitars and Yamaha Acoustic Guitars are among the bestselling acoustic guitars.

For the Washburn company, the Washburn D10S acoustic guitar is my prime choice of acoustic
guitars for the average guitar player. It's reasonably priced around $250 and is of decent quality.

For other models of acoustic guitars, I recommend Musician's Hut.

Bass Guitars for the Average Player

Bass guitars vary in price, and there's no real way to say what's a good range. I would say $400 - $800 is a good price for a bass guitar for post people. You need something that comes from a name brand because you want a quality sound.

I recommend the Fender® Mike Dirnt Precision Bass at GuitarCenter.com . This high quality guitar was designed by a friend of Green Day.
